West Ham are determined to do ‘whatever it takes’ to sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal following the midfielder’s ‘outstanding’ performances at the London Stadium.

Lingard signed for the club on loan during the January transfer window following a frustrating spell at Manchester United, the 28-year-old failing to make a single league appearance over the first half of the campaign.

The winter window arrival has made a stunning impact since arriving at the Hammers, scoring six goals and providing three assists in just eight Premier League appearances for David Moyes’ side.

His performances have boosted West Ham‘s hopes of securing Champions League football with the Hammers currently fourth in the division after Monday’s 3-2 win at Wolves, a fixture which saw Lingard score a sensational solo goal and provide an assist for Jarrod Bowen.

Lingard’s renaissance has also seen the midfielder move back into the international reckoning after being included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the first time since 2019 last month, featuring in World Cup qualifier wins against San Marino, Albania and Poland.

Lingard has added a new dimension to the West Ham side since his arrival with his energy and creativity providing the perfect link between midfield and attack, the England international now a priority signing for the east London side as they look to build on a superb season under Moyes this term.
