West Ham are ‘confident’ that David Moyes will sign a new deal, despite reports linking the manager with a return to former club Everton.
Moyes is in talks with the Hammers over a three-year extension to his current deal, following an impressive campaign in which he led the east Londoners to their highest league finish in 22 years and a record Premier League points total.
Discussions with the 58-year-old are believed to be at an ‘advanced’ stage, as West Ham prepare to return to Europe this season after securing Europa League qualification.
The club’s hierarchy remain confident that Moyes will put pen to paper on the deal despite reports of potential interest from former club Everton, who are seeking a new manager following Carlo Ancelotti’s decision to leave for Real Madrid.
Sky Sports are reporting that Moyes was under consideration by the Toffees before Ancelotti’s appointment in December 2019, having previously spent 11 successful seasons on Merseyside before moving to Manchester United.
Moyes has seen his reputation enhance since taking charge at the London Stadium for a second time last season, leading the Hammers away from relegation fears in 2019/20 before a season of huge improvement this term.
