Thomas Tuchel has revealed he will avoiding using ‘overloaded’ players ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Arsenal in the Premier League tomorrow evening.

Chelsea host their London rivals at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, looking to continue their momentum from Saturday’s win at Manchester City and strengthen their position in the Premier League’s top four.

Tuchel’s side currently sit third in the table, six points clear of fifth-placed West Ham and victory tomorrow evening will move the west Londoners a huge step closer to Champions League qualification.

Chelsea’s success in cup competitions has meant a congested fixture list for the Blues in recent weeks, the clash with Arsenal coming just three days before the club’s FA Cup final date with Leicester at Wembley.

Tuchel’s side are also through to the Champions League final, where they will face Premier League rivals Manchester City on May 29.

Tuchel has revealed he will assess his side’s fitness ahead of the visit of the Gunners and says he will avoid using ‘overloaded’ players in a bid to minimise the chance of injury ahead of his side’s upcoming finals.

“We just have an eye on the players workload and on the statistics that we have, who is maybe overloaded on high speed and from that we will decide who is at risk of injury,” Tuchel told his pre-match press conference.

“Everyone who is not at risk of injury will be available for the game.

“It’s not the time to manage the game on Saturday now. Now is the time to manage the game on Wednesday. We’re in the middle of a race for the top four and cannot judge games.”
