Tottenham have reportedly offered Antonio Conte a €20m contract as the club look to tempt the former Chelsea boss back to the Premier League.

Spurs are currently assessing their options following the sacking of Jose Mourinho last month, with the north London side having been linked with a number of candidates including Belgium manager Roberto Martinez, Brighton’s Graham Potter and former RB Leipzig coach Ralf Rangnick.

Italian newspaper La Stampa are now reporting that Spurs have made an audacious move to bring former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte back to English football, including offering the Italian a huge contract worth around €20m-per-season, a significant increase on the €13m he earns at Inter Milan.

Conte enjoyed huge success during his two seasons with Chelsea and won the Premier League title during his maiden campaign, lifting the FA Cup in his second season before departing Stamford Bridge.

The 51-year-old took charge of Inter Milan in 2019 and guided the club to a drought-breaking Serie A success this season, winning a first league title in over a decade.

However, Sky Sports Italia are reporting that Conte’s future is uncertain amid talks with the Inter hierarchy, who have said the club need to cut costs by up to 20%, and could need to make up to €70 million in player sales this summer.

Conte had been keen to build on the club’s success with a summer of investment this term and the owner’s decision to cut costs has led to speculation a termination over his contract could be agreed this week.

Spurs have now been placed on alert and have reportedly made an approach for his services, with Conte having won league titles in five of his past seven seasons in club management, winning major silverware at Juventus, Chelsea and Inter.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a potential move for Conte, as uncertainty continues to surround the future of Zinedine Zidane at the Bernabeu,

Inter’s list of potential replacements is believed to include former Juventus boss Max Allegri, ex-Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri and Simeone Inzaghi.
