Paul Pogba is set to make a decision ‘this week’ over his Manchester United future amid reports of ‘discussions’ with Paris Saint-Germain.
Pogba has entered the final year of his contract with the Red Devils and has been linked with an exit, with PSG emerging as the frontrunners for his signature despite previous interest from Real Madrid and former club Juventus.
The France international’s representative, Mino Raiola, is understood to have held talks with the Parisians following ‘unexpected interest’ and Telefoot, as per AS, are reporting that talks are ‘progressing well’ between the player’s agent and PSG sporting director Leonardo.
Pogba is reportedly seeking guarantees over his role in the side amid strong competition for midfield places at the Parc des Princes, as the midfielder weighs up whether to sign a new contract at Old Trafford or depart on a free transfer next summer.
Pogba has struggled for consistency during five seasons in the Premier League, after returning to Manchester in an £89m world-record deal from Juventus in 2016.
The 28-year-old impressed during Euro 2020 despite France’s early elimination at the hands of Switzerland and could now consider a move away following United’s inability to challenge for major honours in recent seasons.
Reports elsewhere have suggested that United have set a £50 million valuation on their star midfielder, a figure that hasn’t put off the French side.
