Manchester United are yet to make ‘official contact’ with Borussia Dortmund over a summer deal to sign Jadon Sancho according to reports in Germany.
Sancho was subject of strong transfer interest from the Red Devils last summer, though a deal failed to materialise with United unwilling to match the England international’s €120m (£108m) valuation amid the current financial climate.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side remain interested in doing a deal however, whilst Dortmund are more open to Sancho’s sale this summer and have reportedly set an asking price at a reduced fee of around €95m (£81.6m).
Dortmund are already planning to use those funds to conduct their own recruitment drive this summer, though Dortmund based newspaper, Ruhr Nachrichten [via Sport Witness], are reporting that United are yet to make an ‘official’ approach for Sancho.
Recent reports had suggested United were keen to conclude a deal before the start of Euro 2020 which begins on Friday, though it is speculated that the reason formal talks are yet to begin is down to the fact that ‘the framework’ of Dortmund’s demands is ‘openly on the table’.
Sancho had previously been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea as Premier League clubs consider a move for the 21-year-old, though the report says that the Bundesliga side are not anticipating further interest in the player regardless of his performances at this summer’s European Championship, with Old Trafford his likely destination.
