Manchester City are reportedly ‘prepared’ to meet Tottenham’s £150m valuation for Harry Kane.

Kane’s future has dominated the headlines this summer with the England captain having informed Spurs of his desire to leave the club, with Premier League champions Man City having seen an opening offer rejected earlier in the transfer window.

The north London side have continued to insist that the 28-year-old is not for sale, though the prospect of a British transfer record bid of £150m from the Etihad could persuade the club to part with their prized possession.

The Independent are reporting that City are ‘prepared’ to meet that valuation, a deal that would see the club break the division’s transfer record for the second time this summer, having already signed Jack Grealish in a £100m deal from Aston Villa.

Kane was not involved during Spurs’ opening fixture of the Premier League season, in which Nuno Espirito Santo’s side beat suitors City 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The forward has returned to training this week but has not travelled for the club’s Europa Conference League play-off tie with Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal on Thursday, and it remains to be seen whether he is involved for the weekend trip to Wolves amid the uncertainty surrounding his future.

The report says a bid of £150m may not necessarily be enough to see a deal agreed, but it is likely to lead to negotiations between the sides with the saga expected to run until the closing stages of the transfer window.
